Join us for a hands-on day of learning and doing! Discover how silvopasture systems—integrating trees and livestock—can support sheep farming, improve pasture health, and build climate resilience. We’ll explore a tree fodder plan for sheep, discuss hedgerows, windbreaks, and shelterbelts, and highlight tree species that thrive in our region. You’ll also get your hands in the soil with a small tree planting activity, followed by collaborative work installing a protective fence around the planting site.
Instructor's bio: Juliana Quaresma passion lies in connecting people with farming and the environment, and since 2009, she's been involved in educational programs focusing on farm justice in Recife, Brazil, and New York. In 2021, she began her farming journey with Viva Acres, where she raises sheep, produces wool and lamb cuts, offers farm education programs, and creates herbal products.
This event is free, however, donations help us keep future programming costs low for our community. Thank you for your continued support!
