Garden Tool Care Workshop

  • Tuesday, January 27, 2026, 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM

Properly maintained garden tools are essential for making our work easier. This class will introduce you to the tools and supplies needed to clean, sharpen, and safely store your most common garden tools. The workshop-style will have general information about garden tool maintenance and hands-on instruction of the techniques.

Participants may bring 2 of their own tools to work with from the following categories: hand pruners, loppers, hand-held hedge trimmers, or edgers.
Note: this class will not include instruction on sharpening power tools, such as chainsaws or electric/battery powered hedge trimmers.

Instructor's bio: Janine Willis is the CCE Tompkins Community Beautification Program Coordinator and has 10+ years experience as a landscape gardener.
