Food Preservation: Jam Making

  • Tuesday, March 31, 2026, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Canning jams is an easy, fast, and fun way to preserve fruit. In this workshop, we'll go over some of the basics of canning including equipment and food safety, and then learn how to make jams. Participants will have the opportunity to practice these skills with hands-on demonstrations and will be able to take home some of the items that they make!

Due to the hands-on nature of this topic, it will only be offered in person and attendance will be limited to 16.

Instructor's bio: Aly Trombitas is the Agriculture and Horticulutre Educator at CCE Tompkins and a Master Food Preserver. She has many years of experience teaching all ages about food, environment, and agriculture. She is also generally enthusiastic about food preservation.
