Although the Tompkins County Community Beautification Program is funded by an annual grant from the Tompkins County Tourism Program supported by proceeds of the Tompkins County Room Tax, your cash or in-kind donation, or bequest, can still be used to support beautification projects, either by providing funds for additional plant materials, staff time, or projects that may be outside the scope of the program.
There are two ways to donate:
Send a donation to the Beautification Fund: Send a donation check payable to CCETC to Cornell Cooperative Extension Tompkins County, 615 Willow Avenue, Ithaca, NY 14850. Indicate Beautification Fund in the memo. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Your gift will be acknowledged by a letter that you may use for tax purposes, and your name will be listed among donors in our published Annual Report unless you request otherwise.
Bottle and Can Drive: Hate waiting at the redemption center for your cans and bottles to be counted? Donate the proceeds to Community Beautification instead! Since K&H Redemption closed, Southern Tier Bottle Return is now running our ongoing fundraiser. There are two locations to which you can bring your donations:
IthaCan- 615 Elmira Rd, Ithaca NY
Lansing Can & Bottle Return- 3106 N. Triphammer Rd
Both locations are open 10-5 Monday through Friday, and 10-4 on Saturday. Drop off your bottles and cans, and tell them you'd like to have Community Beautification to receive your deposit returns. No sorting required!
