Winter Covered Storage at 4-H Acres

Support Tompkins County 4-H this winter by utilizing our covered pole barn storage!

Our covered pole barn offers 9,360 square feet of protected space, perfect for storing boats, cars, trailers, campers, and recreational vehicles during the winter months. By renting space, you’re helping support local 4-H youth programs while keeping your vehicle safe from the elements.

Rates

$3.00 per square foot
(Rate is calculated as length of vehicle × width of vehicle × $3.00)

How to Measure Your Vehicle

To calculate your storage cost:

  1. Measure the length of your vehicle (in feet) from bumper to bumper or trailer tongue to rear.
  2. Measure the width at its widest point.
  3. Multiply length × width × $3.00 to determine your total storage rate.

Example:
A 20 ft. boat × 8 ft. width × $3 = $480 total for the season

Winter Prep Tips

Before bringing your vehicle or boat for storage, we recommend:

  • Shrink-wrapping boats or campers for added weather protection
  • Removing all gasoline, oil, and waste from vehicles and tanks
  • Disconnecting batteries and securing loose parts or covers
  • Cleaning and drying the exterior to prevent corrosion or mildew
  • Emptying water systems in campers or boats to avoid freezing damage

These steps will help ensure your vehicle is protected throughout the winter months.
