4-H Acres

4-H Acres is a rural nature facility located at 418 Lower Creek Road in Ithaca and owned by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County.  Facilities include a commercial kitchen, covered BBQ pit, pole and horse barns and nature trails.

New Arbor Building Crew

Kiwanis Hall

Located at the front of the property, Kiwanis Hall is the main building at 4-H Acres. It contains two large meeting rooms (Middle Room capacity-49 and Sherman Room capacity-113); all fully heated. The building has restrooms and a kitchen facility with a commercial range. A covered barbeque pit just outside the building is great for cookouts of any size - the perfect addition to a family reunion and ideal as a fundraiser for community groups.

Behind Kiwanis Hall is a lovely lawn area with open space for outdoor activities such as a volley ball or a softball game. Mature trees provide shade, and the facility's picnic tables can be used in the sun, shade or under a covered picnic area attached to the hall.

Kiwanis Hall also has a Commercial Kitchen available. Please see the Commercial Kitchen Use Agreement if interested and reach out to cce.kitchens@cornell.edu for more information.

Please be advised that all contract materials, including a certificate of liability insurance and the signed rental agreement must be delivered to the 4-H office at least 10 business days prior to the event. This allows for the contract to be approved by our insurance provider.

The Pole Barn

This facility offers 9360 square feet of covered space. It has bleachers, gates that can be arranged as pens, three box stalls, and permanent tie stalls. A manure ramp makes for easy disposal of animal waste. No matter what you plan outside, it will fit under the pole barn in the event of inclement weather - from a volley ball game to a community dance! The Pole Barn also is available for storage rental (boats, cars, recreational vehicles) from October 1-May 1. Rates are: length of vehicle x width of vehicle x $2.00.  Reach out to the contact listed below to secure your space!

The Horse Barn

An idyllic setting surrounded by woodlands, yet accessible from the main facility, the horse barn contains 16 tie stalls and 4 box stalls. It is immediately adjacent to the 60 ft x 50 ft rustic riding ring.

Nature Trails

The 4-H Acres property includes numerous nature trails, many with markers that identify items of natural interest. These woodlands are part of a larger forested area, all teaming with wildlife.

Bowker Hall

Bowker Hall is a focal point for overnight stays at 4-H Acres during the summer months. It offers multiple restrooms and shower facilities to accommodate groups interested in a private, overnight camping experience.

4-H Acres is owned by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County. The facilities are maintained by private donations and facility rental fees.
