Nothing beats the crunchy zing of a homemade pickle! In this workshop we'll learn the basics of making fermented foods and how to ferment food safely. We'll also have plenty of time for a hands-on activity where participants will get to decide if they want to make pickles or sauerkraut.

Instructor's bio: Aly Trombitas is the Agriculture & Horticulture Educator at CCE Tompkins. She is Master Food Preserver and started formally (and enthusiastically) teaching food preservation in 2023. She has many years of experience teaching all ages about food, environment, and agriculture.

This class is limited to 16 participants.

Fee

This program is vauled at $35, however, please pay what you are able. Paying more than $35 will help others attend the class. If you cannot afford the $15 materials cost, please contact us, scholoarships are available.
