The 2017 Community Beautification Award for a Business was presented to Elmira Savings Bank on West State St. The landscaping around their new branch beautified this important intersection in downtown Ithaca. Ornamental grasses, shrubs and perennials are planted on all four sides of the building and parking lot.
The 2017 Community Beautification Award for a Civic Association was awarded to the Enfield Volunteer Fire Department. The colorful annual plantings wrap around the front of the building and were planted and maintained by their volunteers.
The 2017 Community Beautification Award for a Residence was presented to the homeowners at the corner of Marshall and Utica Streets in downtown Ithaca. They have transformed the space between the sidewalk and street into a colorful collage of flowers, herbs and vegetables with a hollow tree trunk transformed into a cozy seating nook.

went to Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services
for the Lake Street walkway adjacent to the newly completed housing at
210 Hancock Street. The pedestrian walkway is landscaped with trees and
shrubs, with benches to sit and enjoy the view of nearby Cascadilla
Creek.
