Tompkins County 4-H Programs Present Fall Festival

Tompkins County’s 4-H Youth Development Programs will present a day of free family fun at the 4-H Fall Festival. The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 21, in the parking lot of the Tractor Supply Co., 378 Elmira Rd in Ithaca, N.Y. Admission is free, and all are welcome.

Attendees will have the chance to learn more about the wide variety of 4-H offerings. If you are a plant lover, have a sweet tooth, or want to learn about dog training, this is a great opportunity to learn from experienced 4-H youth. Interact with local farm animals — including sheep, rabbits, and a calf — while learning about animal care. Knowledgeable instructors from the 4-H Primitive Pursuits and Rural Youth Services programs will lead outdoor activities for all ages, and the Cornell Raptor Club will showcase majestic and graceful birds of prey.

A silent auction featuring fantastic fall decorations will give locals the chance to take home special seasonal décor while supporting 4-H programs. For those interested in how to enroll in youth clubs and other programs, staff will be available with a variety of information.

4-H is a worldwide youth development program available in every state and over eighty countries. It is open to youth ages 5 to 19, who find in 4-H a supportive environment and opportunities for hands-on, experiential learning about things that interest them.
