Tompkins County Master Gardeners Hold Fall Bulb Sale Fundraiser
ITHACA, NY – The Master Gardener Volunteers of Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Tompkins County are holding their Fall Bulb Sale fundraiser, featuring spring blooming tulips, crocus, iris, hyacinth and numerous other gardener and pollinator favorites. Orders can be placed online through October 1, 2023, for local pickup. Shipping is not available. Find information and a link to order at CCETompkins.org.
Gardeners can choose bulbs from a list specially curated by the Master Gardeners to include those they have grown successfully, with offerings that cover a variety of colors and bloom times from March to July.
The sale includes only top-quality bulbs from Van Engelen, the wholesale branch of the popular John Scheepers Inc. garden supplier. Online orders made through this sale by October 1 will be distributed to the buyers in mid-October in the CCE Tompkins County parking lot at 615 Willow Avenue in Ithaca. The exact timing will be announced after the orders are finalized.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit programming such as our gardening advice Growline, local Demonstration Gardens, and more.
“Our annual bulb sale gives all of us one more reason to look forward to spring,” said Marissa Nolan, Horticulture Team Lead. “The Master Gardeners sharing their favorites means the list is a little different every year, and we’re excited to offer varieties that will flourish in your garden.”
