Cooperative Extension Welcomes Interim Executive Director

(Ithaca NY, 10/15/21) The Board of Directors of Cornell Cooperative Extension Tompkins County announces the appointment of Sharon Anderson to serve as Interim Executive Director, following the resignation of Kenneth Schlather on October 7th after 17 years in the position. Anderson will address the immediate needs of the organization as the Board begins the process to fill the Executive Director position.

Anderson returns to the staff after retiring in June 2021 following 30 years of service with Cornell Cooperative Extension in Tompkins and Schenectady Counties, most recently leading CCE-Tompkins’ Environmental Issues Program. Board Co-Presidents Tisa Fontaine Hill and Sarah Barden expressed their confidence in the selection of Anderson, saying, “We are pleased to welcome Sharon back due to her deep history with our programs and community, and we are confident that her conscientious leadership will guide us through this transition and help pave the way for a stronger Association in the future.”
