This building is a great example of how energy efficient a house can be. The heating and cooling systems are more than twice as efficient as conventional systems, an effort was made to detect and take care of phantom electrical loads, power is cut off to devices when they're not in use and as a result, the homeowner has enabled her solar PV system to provide 85% of her electricity. She hopes to one day reduce her energy usage enough to go off-grid.
